Our aim is to develop a small and tightly knit community -  with each member actively contributing to its success.

If you are based in Cheshire and are not a member of another club then please fill in the application form and we will be in touch.

The Cheshire Metal Detecting Society operates a finding service in the area. If you have lost something metal, then we will be able to find it for you providing you know the rough area in which it was lost. This could be keys, coins, jewellery or any other metallic object.

We do not charge for this service but a donation to one of our favourite charities is always welcome.

To use this service please email chairman@cheshiremds.co.uk and the chairman will assign the closest member to you in order that your posession is retrieved speedily.

If you are a landowner - whether this be a medium sized garden or a 200 acre farm -  and you are interested in finding metallic objects from your property's history then please contact the chairman and he will arrange this.

About us

We are a group of metal detectorists hailing from Cheshire and North Wales.

Our aim is to build a small community of responsible detectorists, who have fun sharing knowledge and outings with mature likeminded enthusiasts.

We are a very recently formed club and are currently at full membership. A chosen group of people who will contribute to the formation of a successful society with strong values.

How we work...

We respect the fact that we are guests on someones property and behave in accordance with the code of conduct for the National Council of Metal Detectorists.

Our members are fully insured for £10 million civil liability, each of whom abide by club rules  for Responsible Metal Detecting in England and Wales.

We always share finds of monetary value on a 50:50 basis with the landowner.
